Starliner test flights will continue with cargo flights and if successful then with crews again. Same process as done with the Space X dragon capsular in the past.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

Space X and Boeing have to work with the money they get from NASA and the tax payers and they have been aware of this as they signed the contracts and started developing the space crafts for crewed human space flight.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

Administrator Nelson explains that the commercial space program of NASA is based on contracts with fix prices that NASA will pay to Space X and Boeing. This reduces the costs massively for NASA and the tax payer. Both companies know that these prices are fix.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

To make the decision was not easy for NASA. It's the first time since a long time that NASA has to change a Mission plan so radically as now happened.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

To return to Earth with Crew-9 Butch and Suni need the astronauts suits of Space X. Two of them will be transported with Crew-9 to ISS.

Butch and Suni will now stay for 8 months on the ISS. A normal mission time to ISS is 6 months and can be extended to 12 months. Butch and Suni are now in the middle of this time frame.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

Currently they can not predict what the Thrusters will do when undocking from the ISS. A flight test simulation for that doesn't not convinced NASA enough to decide to bring Butch and Suni home with the Starliner.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>
