Android (F-Droid Store is required) – Tested with Android 15 and 16

Unfortunately, you can’t connect Android devices directly to CalDAV calendars. But there’s an app that integrates the CalDAV standard into Android. The app is available in the F-Droid Store (an alternative to the Google Play Store). The app is also available in the Google Play Store, but it isn’t free there. The open-source developers want to cover their costs for making the app available in the Google Play Store. However, the app is free via F-Droid, and you’ll need to install it to follow the instructions below.

  • Open the F-Droid Store and install the ICSx5 app: https://f-droid.org/packages/at.bitfire.icsdroid/
  • Open the ICSx5 app and tap the plus icon in the bottom right corner
  • Select „Subscribe to URL“
  • Paste the link to our Astro Events calendar
  • No authentication or advanced settings are required.
  • Tap „Subscribe“
  • Now you can set a calendar color and alarm settings if you wish
  • Tap the arrow in the top right corner to confirm the settings
  • The calendar is now subscribed and added to your default Android calendar
  • You can now open your calendar app and check whether the Astro Events calendar is active and the events are displayed.

It’s that easy to subscribe to our Astro Event Calendar. We hope you enjoy it.
