Solar panels are deployed and contact to ESOC control room in Darmstadt is established. Hera is now on its way to asteroid Dimorphos. A great day and step for Europe and the European Space Agency. Hera will now deploy it‘s solar panels and send a signal back to Earth. This can take several minutes. We have a successful separation of Hera from the Falcon 9 rocket. The first signals of Hera will be received by the NSA Deep Space Network antenna in Australia. When Hera separates from the Falcon 9 it will deploy its solar panels to get energy from the sun. The upper stage of the Falcon 9 will remain in an interplanetary orbit as well and my return to earth some day. We have a successful burn of the second stage and Hera reached the interplanetary orbit around the sun. In around 20 minutes we will have separation of Hera from the Falcon 9. In round about 1 hour we have separation of Hera from the second stage Stage 2 burn is coming soon. Hera will fulfil another Earth orbit before the space probe moves into interplanetary orbit. We have a successful launch and a successful separation of the first stage Launch of the Hera Mission. We have 3 minutes to launch This falcon 9 rocket booster (first stage) has it‘s 23 and final launch today. We are 10 minutes to launch. weather looks better in Florida, than in the morning. Launch is in around 20 minutes. We are 30 minutes from launch the ESA live broadcast has begun. Several instruments on Hera will investigate the dust particles from the Dart impact and the ground of the asteroid Dimorphos. Hera‘s mission is to find out which consequences the impact of the NASA Dart space probe had on asteroid Dimorphos. weather conditions are still on go We are one hours away from the launch. Hera is already in the Falcon 9 rocket and propellant is loaded to the rocket. The launch of the Hera mission has been brought forward to 16:52 CEST today.
